O’Hare Donohoe accept instructions on behalf of either Claimants or Defendants, in criminal matters on behalf of the Defence or Prosecution, and in workplace and matrimonial disputes on behalf of the Applicant or Respondent.
Our main areas of forensic work include:
Sometimes, however, before there is a Claimant, Defendant or Applicant, there can be a perceived but as yet unidentified irregularity. Even at this early stage O’Hare Donohoe can provide investigative services to first of all examine the causes of that irregularity and then offer commercial advice as regards the focus of any further investigation.
Once the irregularity has been identified and formal forensic work is required, evidence is the key to all aspects of our work, which typically might involve the following:
- Providing an initial view of the papers
- Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the claim
- Discussing our recommended action plan with you
- Detailing necessary further information and documentation
- Providing a detailed quotation
- Reviewing other accountants' reports
- Preparing reports, schedules, calculations
- Assisting with the preparation of matrimonial questionnaires
- Attending experts' meetings
- Agreeing and preparing joint statements
- Acting as a shadow accountant
- Attending conferences with Counsel
- Assisting in mediation or other settlement negotiations
- Assisting at Employment Tribunal Hearings, including giving evidence
- Presenting evidence as expert witness
- Assisting in Court
We have also recently seen an increased demand for internal audit services among clients of solicitor’s practices who are suffering from ongoing fraud. Details of our services in this area can be seen here
